Christmas Baking!

Today I gave myself half the day off! I got my million & one orders packaged up from the weekend and went off to do a spot of shopping & baking! I wanted to try some new cupcakes inspired by some bits I'd seen on Pinterest & other blogs. Here are my Peppermint Cupcakes!

If you fancy making these delicious little cupcakes it was super simple and they look really nice & festive - Perfect for a Christmas party!


I used a basic cupcake recipe & bought some chocolate frosting (I cheated because I was trying to save time! - Homemade frosting definately tastes better though!). I bought some candy canes and bashed them up with a rolling pin (great stress relief) and poured all the crushed pieces in a bowl, with some chocolate sprinkles & pieces. I smothered the buns in chocolate frosting (messier the better!) and then spooned on the crushed pieces and chocolate and gave a final little sprinkle of icing sugar to look like snow and tada! Super Duper simple cupcakes! No messing around with Icing bags - Really nice quick & simple - and not much washing up! I'll be taking some into work tomorrow to share with the girlies :-)

So I thought I'd start a new thing to encourage me to take my camera EVERYWHERE (if only it wasn't so big!) & start a regular post where I just show you everything I've been  up to that week - hopefully I'll actually do enough so I have something to share! :-) here's this weeks adventures!

Baking!

Since I finished uni I've been baking lots and lots seeing as my cooker at uni isn't much good and likes to burn things/not cook them properly! So I thought I'd make some little buns and some scones as my last lot turned out horrible from the recipe! I was also getting some practice in as I've been requested to make 70+ of them for the Mr's birthday party on Friday! :-)

Sorry For Being Distant!

So yet again I've neglected my blog! We had my flatmates mum and little sister come up to stay last weekend, which was lovely because it meant a change of face in the house! We went out for a lovely chinese, and a trip to manchester! & we also had a little pumpkin carving session! I went back home on Monday too, which was well overdue! I loved it and really didn't want to come back to Preston - but oh well! Heres what I've been up to....

Strawberry Cream Cake

Hey all!

Not been up to massive amounts today! had quite a lazy morning, waiting for the Mr to pop round and help bake a cake for his grans birthday...

this is how it turned out.

Played around with my camera some more! and got new photo editing software free from google! WIN! Finally arranged some last minute plans with the Mr! We're off to the national coal mining museum tomorrow, staying at the travel lodge, then off to yorkshire sculpture park the day after - fingers crossed the weather is nice! Hopefully I'll get lots of pretty pictures to post up here! :-)

Best be off to finish packing!
