So with the decision to go into Part-Time work it's given me the opportunity to invest more time into The Polkadotte - which is perfect for me! Over the last few months I've been attending various markets & fairs to show the public what I have to offer and I've had the best time!
My first was a fair up in my Screenprinting Friends neck of the woods at Sewerby Summer Gala and it was a gorgeous day! As most market/fair traders will know the initial set up is pretty pricey! It's easy to forget that as a customer the amount of time and effort the person whos stall you're looking at has put in to attending that event! It literally took me weeks to prepare! Making stock, pricing up, marketing ideas, creating packaging, business cards etc, then after all that I had to decide on a layout!
It's been a lot of trial and error and with each stall I learn a little something different. It's also been super helpful to chat to some of the regular traders at the events because you get a better idea of what an average day at an event is. Nothing more disheartening than turning up on a bad week and not selling much, but it's a little reassuring to know everyone else is in the same boat :)
A few things I've learnt so far is obviously preparation is key and so is enthusiasm! Go into each event open minded and stick it out. You've paid for the full day - so stay! Don't overwhelm your customers with too much choice, be selective and keep things neat, makes its much easier for your customers to browse and see what really takes their interest. I'm still picking up little ideas and tips each time I attend and I'm also realising what really doesn't work, it'll be different for each person so just trial and error is best!

New Life!
So things have settled down a little lately! I'm loving my new job at English Muse and all the wonderful people I've already met from it! Makes me miss living round the Avenues as its such a gorgeous creative community, so happy I'm back round there and working though! In case you're not from Hull, Newland Avenue & Princes Avenue is a super cute creative part of Hull and its primarily full of students as it's close by to the uni - thus making it super cool and rather trendy!
The English Muse is a Gorgeous (with a capital G) little café with the most beautiful front windows. I work primarily in the kitchen cooking up huge pans of tasty Veggie soups and toasting some toastys! I love that it's nothing like my other jobs and I have a little freedom with it and can make things look nice and pretty! Never did I think that anyone actually enjoyed their jobs - having worked at other places and just kept on plodding on because it paid the bills, this new venture is a revelation to me! I love it!
I love to encourage people to do more of what makes them happy so I'd love to inspire anyone to sack off their jobs that make them unhappy and go do what does make you happy! I've felt such a change of the last month or so in myself and I can truly say I'm happy! I'm terrified about money - don't get me wrong haha - but money isn't everything :-)
You'll only hate Mondays if you hate your job.

I'm back!
I'm sorry I've been AWOL for quite some time! I made the decision to work full time and the business took a back step. It's been growing steadily since and now I've made the decision to cut down my hours, take a new job (in a gorgeous little cafe) and refocus my energy into my little baby! (the business!)
I've got a new zest of inspiration and I'm very excited and giddy for all that is to come! Lots of happy exciting new things in the pipeline and I'm excited to share it with you all!
Watch this space!

Wedding!
Last summer my wonderful cousin Matthew got married to his beautiful fiance Rebecca. It was at a beautiful old manor house (For the life of me I can't remember its name!)
me and Mary brother were invited to the evening do whilst the rest of the family were at the ceremony so we joined them later on. it was my brothers last family visit before he moved to Australia, so it was a nice special day to all spend together before he left us for a year (Or more!)
I managed to squeeze into my Polkadot (The Polkadotte - in polkadots?!) dress that I'd bought years before with the hopes of wearing it to a wedding, but then I got fat and couldn't fit, but then I got skinny and then could! *yeay!*
It was a lovely afternoon - mainly spent getting drunk with my brother, and dancing to the live band that played various Indie songs of our teenage years!

Baby Mudd's Shower!
So wayyy back in September I threw a baby shower for my best friend. We go way back and have been friends since we were kids so I was super excited to host the shower and get all excited about the little bubba she was about to bring into the world. Her and husband decided to keep the sex of the baby a secret so it was up to me to throw a neutral shower and think up lots of fun things for us and the guests to do. Oh, and by the way... it was a surprise so I had to keep it secret, which was ridiculously difficult to do!
I had a full table full of party snacks - cooked off little nibbles etc and tried to make the rest of the food 'baby themed', had dishes full of pink & blue sweets, napkin nappys full of crisps, I even managed to make some little napking booties from a tutorial on good ol' Pinterest (Oh Pinterest where would parties be without you!). Safe to say I did way too much food haha but it did go down quite a treat!
I borrowed a gazebo off a friend because of the unreliable English weather but I needn't have worried because it was a beautiful sunny day! Me & My mum spent a couple of afternoons making our own decorations and hung them around the gazebo making it super cute and cosy, along with a bunch of 'emergency' mismatched garden furniture covered in my living room throws and cushions haha!
Amazing how much themed food you can find when you're really looking for it! Super cute teddy bear shaped biscuits & crisps!
I put together some little party bags with a teddy bear wine glass charm as a keep sake and a good bag filled with pink & blue sweets. We handed out rock dummys as medals for the game winners, decorated some nappys ready for mummy & daddy to read with their late night nappy changes! Played some charades, music quiz (courtesy of Youtube! ;) ) and had some blindfolded nappy changing haha! I even asked the guests to bring along their old baby photos so we had a game of guess who too! Which was way more difficult than it sounds!
All in all there was lots of tears (hopefully of happiness) from the Beautiful Expecting Mummy and I think it went down a treat! Took me months of preparing though haha, so I'm hoping that's my party hosting duties done for a little while! :-)

Back To Work!
Hello all! I've not managed to be very consistent with the blogging but I have been quite a busy bee!
I've really been putting a lot of effort back in to my business and it means I've spent countless hours listing after listing after listing, and I'm still no where near close to getting finished haha! BUT... I'm enjoying it, and my hard work is slowly beginning to pay off!
Today's just a short one to say I am still about and I PLAN to be back more often but today I'll spend the rest of my day planning some *hopefully* more interesting blog posts for you guys!
Have a lovely Friday!

New Flat!
So I took the plunge and got myself my very own flat! No sharing - Alllllll Mine! It's a lovely old building over looking a big park - Awesome for a people watcher like me! It's got huge windows and high ceilings and tons of space - I was a little worried everything I bought wouldn't fit but I shouldn't have worried haha! I'm slowly but surely getting there in making it homely and cosy. Here are the before pictures....
It was an epic job to get moved in - it's a first floor flat so there was a lot of stair climbing! Here's the during...

Wales
In
August I took a trip with my boyfriends family for a week in Wales. It
was a lot of walking, sightseeing and being tourists. On one of the first days we climbed Mount Snowdon! Only me, Dan & Josh made it to the top! I was exhausted! I also twisted my ankle several times on the walk down, then fell and went flying, resulting in a badly pulled muscle in my leg which left me hobbling around in pain for a few days after!
